Adoptive, kinship, and foster parents, child welfare professionals, adoptees, alumni of foster care, and other child advocates.
What are the dates of the conference?
August 8-10, 2018 (pre-conference session August 7). Please note: the 2018 conference will be held from Wednesday to Friday with the pre-conference session on Tuesday. These are different days of the week then the conference has been scheduled in the past.
Where will the conference be held?
Saint Paul, Minnesota
What is the closest airport?
MSP — Minneapolis/Saint Paul International Airport
Can I schedule a special meeting during the conference?
On Wednesday and Thursday evenings, groups can hold meetings open to all conference attendees or for a specified group. All meetings will be held at the conference hotel.
- If you would like to hold an evening meeting, contact NACAC at conference@nacac.org.
- Space is limited and meeting times will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Evening meetings will be listed in the final program.
How should I dress for the conference?
The dress code is casual (jeans, slacks). Rooms vary in temperature, so we recommend dressing in layers or bringing a sweater.
Is child care provided? Will there be a program for children and youth?
There is no children’s program this year
Can I bring my child to a workshop?
In an effort to minimize potential distractions, we ask that parents and caregivers refrain from bringing children to sessions.
What is the difference between a CEU and a certificate of attendance?
A CEU is a unit of continuing education recorded on a transcript at a college or university. Many professionals need CEUs to stay licensed. A certificate of attendance says you were at the conference for a certain number of hours (often adequate for parent training requirements). Check with your agency to see if you need CEUs.
