Adoption Support Network
In Minnesota, NACAC operates the Adoption Support Network, which provides a statewide network of support for adoptive families that includes:
Adoptive Parent Support
Experienced adoptive parents provide emotional support, information, resources, and referrals.
Support Groups
ASN offers more than 20 ongoing support groups around the state for adoptive parents, children, and youth who were adopted. We offer special support groups for teens and their adoptive parents and for families who adopted transracially. Click here to find a calendar of our Minnesota support groups. You can search for all Minnesota support groups in our database of US and Canadian support groups.
Online Support
The private ASN group on Facebook allows parents to share concerns and successes, and offer support and advice to one another. Search Facebook for the group “Adoption Support Network (Minnesota)” to join. The group is only open to adoptive parents in Minnesota.
Retreats
Annual weekend retreats for adoptive parents include training, support, networking opportunities, and self-care.
Family Fun Days
Social events allow adoptive families to gather and develop connections with others in their community.
Support Saturdays
These half-day sessions provide training and support for parents, and interactive and educational programming for children and teens in adoptive families.
